The bibliographical database documents translations of Western science and thought into Chinese during late Imperial China, especially between ca. 1840 and 1930.
It includes bibliographical data like authors, editors, translators, title, title of the original if a translation, publisher, publication place and time, classification, etc. We differentiate carefully between different editions or reprints of the works, and include detailed notes on their specific relation to each other.
The bibliographical database contains more than 8,000 primary and 2,000 secondary texts, including about 800 late imperial Chinese periodicals.
